Graduating from the Creative Communications program at Red River College, Jarrod is a prairie boy whose ambition is fuelled by the spurious opulence of Vegas. He’s passionate about cameras, live music and hot wings. Collaboration, culture and client experience form the foundation of his Castle walls. When he’s not editing video, you’ll often find him flying a drone while plotting his next road trip, often while sipping on only the finest of nectars — Diet Pepsi.

SENIOR PRODUCER

An industry veteran, Dean spent 25 years as a post-secondary media production instructor.
He’s a life-long corporate video producer and videographer having worked with some of Winnipeg’s biggest companies. A professional voice-over artist, you can hear his docile tones on commercials, podcasts and true crime shows. If there’s a chorus of cackling laughter on set, Cooper is probably behind it, regaling us with some whimsical tale he’s subjecting us to for the umpteenth time.

Our rockstar frontman, Mike’s experience in music and marketing guide our ambitions and aspirations. A gifted orator, he’s our resident journalist, conducting thoughtful interviews to elicit the best from people. He can steer a camera and vision mix a live event like a polished Parisian producer. When not chasing stadiums, he loves spending time with his family and their assortment of household pets.

Holding down the bottom end on bass is Pat Hansen from Dundurn, Saskatchewan. A Storm the Castle OG, his technical prowess and perfectionism drive our ambitions to chase bigger stadiums. Having produced ambitious music videos for various bands, Patrick has gone on to teach his video wares to eager students. You’ll also find him commanding the replay machine at mission control for the Winnipeg Jets. A gifted shooter and editor, he wears many hats including a paddy cap as his Irish roots are always permeating our castle walls.

DRONE PILOT

On lead guitar tonight... we call him ’The Doctor!" Brennan is our guitar hero whose been shooting with Storm the Castle for over a decade. A creative soul with a relentless work ethic, he has an eye for composition and creativity. A fully licensed advanced drone pilot, Brennan spends most of his days as a touring guitarist. He’s won many awards for his axe-picking, but we consider him our secret weapon behind the lens. A total foodie, Brennan schools us on culinary knowledge as we navigate restaurants on the road.

A rising star in the video industry, Josh is a firestorm of aspiration and energy. His experience shooting live sports underscores his ability to get the shot when there are no second takes. Having studied film production at The University of Winnipeg and Creative Communications at Red River College, his technical background fuels his visionary shooting style. He’s produced commercials, promo videos and corporate documentaries. Always passionate, he was once fined by an Uber driver for being “too loud.” Josh owns the venerable Josh Kjarsgaard Media - a place where video magic is made!

Originally from Thunder Bay and now based in Winnipeg, “Faz” is a heavy hitter with a cinematic eye. He’s shot for CBC, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, and created EPKs for Hollywood blockbusters. Known for his fluid gimbal work, bold lighting, and relentless work ethic, he pushes the team to level up. Decisive behind the lens but famously indecisive at crew dinners, he’s always last to order. Michael is co-founder and Director of Photography at Mindscape Studios, where he’s dedicated to bold, cinematic storytelling.

On drums and backing vocals, all the way from Steinbach, Manitoba is Allen Penner. One of the finest shooters we’ve ever worked with, he also knows a thing or two about editing and colour grading. Brought on as an audio engineer, we liked his shooting too much to leave him behind the mixing board. From music videos to commercials to brand videos, Al has a knack for making visuals jump off the screen. When not provoking us with his bad celebrity impressions, you can find him doing some brilliant video work at Alto Creative.
